Dr. Iliass Ayaou

Iliass Ayaou works on information retrieval and natural language processing for patents and inventive design. His PhD produced DAPFAM, a family-level dataset for cross-domain patent retrieval whose tasks are part of MTEB, and PatenTEB, a benchmark of patent embedding tasks with the patembed family of open models; he also studies how large language models can support ARIZ and retrieval pipelines. He advises the Chair on its architecture and technical choices, from data engineering to the deployment of its tools.
